The local co-operative supermarket is across the road and the Liniclate community school is four to five minutes away by car and contains a library with internet access, museum, swimming pool, fitness suite, sports hall, athletics track and a cafeteria available to the public. A full facility evening and weekend programme is available.

Five miles from the house is the main village of Balivanich where there are two small supermarkets (one with post office), airport, community riding stable, the Stepping Stone restaurant, Bank of Scotland, and Benbecula Golf course.
